Super Kickers: Information for Parents and Caregivers
Our adaptive soccer program is designed to include athletes with disabilities effectively and create a rewarding experience for all participants. Here’s what you need to know before registering your child:
Family Involvement Encouraged:
To help athletes build skills, one-on-one support is sometimes necessary. Parents, family members, caregivers, and friends are encouraged to volunteer during the session. Your knowledge of the athletes abilities can provide valuable insight for coaches, who may have limited experience working with athletes with disabilities.
Benefits of Parental Participation:
In the early stages, we encourage parents/caregivers to actively participate alongside their child. This involvement helps everyone learn new skills, strengthens bonds, and fosters growth.
Inclusive Environment:
Depending on their needs, some athletes may participate fully in practices and games, while others may require modifications. Our inclusive approach promotes teamwork, communication, and fun, helping athletes build social skills and enjoy the sport with their peers.
Long-Term Benefits:
A positive experience in soccer can encourage long-term involvement, leading to physical, social, and emotional benefits. FC Regina is committed to making soccer enjoyable and accessible for all athletes throughout their lives.
