Become a Referee with RSRA for the 2025 Outdoor Season!
Are you looking for a great way to stay involved in soccer, develop leadership skills, and earn some extra money? The Regina Soccer Referees Association (RSRA) is offering opportunities for new referees to join for the 2025 Outdoor Season! Whether you are a young player looking to learn the game from a different perspective or an experienced coach or parent wanting to give back, there’s a pathway for you.
Two Types of Clinics Available
The RSRA is hosting two types of referee clinics tailored to different age groups:
- Entry-Level Clinic (Ages 14+) - This is the traditional clinic for those looking to start refereeing at the full-field level.
- Small-Sided Clinic (Ages 12-13) - Designed for younger referees to officiate U7 and U9 games in a low-pressure environment.
How to Become a Referee
Becoming a certified referee is a two-step process:
Step 1: Online Theory Course (Must be completed by April 20, 2025)
- Entry-Level Clinic (14+): Complete the Canada Soccer Association (CSA) online theory course ($30 per participant).
- Small-Sided Clinic (12-13): Complete the Saskatchewan Soccer Association (SSA) online theory course (free of charge).
Step 2: In-Person Clinic
- Entry-Level Clinic: Saturday, April 26, 9 AM - 5 PM ($150 per participant).
- Small-Sided Clinic: Sunday, April 27, 9 AM - 1 PM ($75 per participant).
Important Notes
- Minimum Age Requirements: Participants must meet the age requirements by the clinic date. The CSA rule for the Entry-Level Clinic (14+) is non-negotiable.
- Capacity Limits: Each clinic is limited to 15 participants. A waitlist will be available if the clinic reaches capacity.
- Small-Sided Referees: Young referees aged 12-13 will gain valuable experience officiating smaller-sided games before advancing to full-field refereeing at age 14.
